Right Here, Right Now

Today I have been reflecting on God’s involvement in my life (see passages below). Wherever I go He is with me. What I think is done in secret is not. God knows me thoroughly: God knows my coming and going. God knows me thoughts, my sins, my motives. No matter where I go — be it to foreign lands or the secret places of the heart — God is already there.

And He loves me still.

  • Why should I ever be afraid?
  • When will I realize that since I can fool people but not God, I might as well be honest with God?
  • Who do I think I am, trying to live independently of Him?
  • What will it take for me to fully “put my weight down” on God, trusting Him to support me in any and every situation?
  • How awesome is this God who knows me, yet loves me

Today I am embracing God. I am embracing God’s omnipresence and omniscience. And embracing God, I feel gloriously free.

Jeremiah 16:17
“My eyes are on all their ways; they are not hidden from me, nor is their sin concealed from my eyes.”

Psalm 139:2-3
“You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.”

Psalm 139:7-10
“Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.”

Proverbs 15:3
“The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good.”Psalm 44:21
“. . . would not God have discovered it, since he knows the secrets of the heart?”

1 Chronicles 28:9
“And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.”

1 Corinthians 4:4-5
“My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me. Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men’s hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God.”
