Skyline’s Core Values

Growing out of our Core Beliefs were our Core Values. Once again, the process was very helpful. The product should be valuable in evaluating our ministries.

Servant leadership
We value servant leadership.
We want to be a church whose shepherds lead, feed, and protect the flock.
Acts 20:28-32; 1 Peter 5:1-4

Compassionate justice
We value compassionate justice.
We want to be a church who serves the harassed and the helpless.
Micah 6:8; Matthew 25:31-46

Prayer
We value prayer.
We want to be a church who is God-directed.
Acts 2:42; Ephesians 1:15-23 and 3:14-21; Philippians 1:9-11

Spiritual transformation
We value spiritual transformation.
We want to be a church where members are becoming Christ-like.
Mark 8:34-37; Romans 8:29 and 12:2; 2 Corinthians 3:18; Galatians 4:19

Unity
We value unity.
We want to be a church who demonstrates love for each other.
John 17:20-23; Acts 2:42; 1 Corinthians 1:10-17

Acceptance
We value acceptance.
We want to be a church who accepts one another with grace, not judgment.
Romans 14:1 and 15:7

Evangelism
We value evangelism.
We want to be a church who introduces the world to Jesus.

Giftedness
We value giftedness.
We want to be a church where all are serving by God’s power to God’s honor.
1 Peter 4:10-11; Romans 12:3-8, 1 Corinthians 12:12-31

Families
We value families.
We want to be a church that protects, nurtures, and shapes God’s protective unit.
Ephesians 5:21-33 and 6:1-4; 1 Peter 3:1-7

Worship
We value worship.
We want to be a church who encounters God in our assemblies and our lives.
