Time is Tight

Here is some rare footage of the original Booker T and The MG’s performing one of my favorites, Time is Tight. This footage was originally recorded not long from the time I first met the drummer, Al Jackson, Jr. who was the husband of my sixth grade school teacher.

Many of the Stax artists had promotional photos taken and even shot album covers at the same photography studio where I did some modeling, mostly for catalogues.

Even with the brief glitch (just a few seconds)in this video it is worth watching to see and hear the musical genius of Booker T. and the MG’s and to see the members of Creedence Clearwater Revival rocking along from the wings of the stage.

By the way, for those who aren’t as familiar with Memphis music, “MG” stands for “Memphis Group.”
