A Prayer for Sunday

Heavenly Father,
My mind wonders and ponders Your love.
My soul proclaims Your greatness.
My spirit rejoices in Your forgiveness.
My body worships Your holiness.

My all anticipates the gathering Sunday.
When we join together to sing and pray.
When we join together to remember and anticipate.
When we join together to listen and give.
You are worthy.

Why, O God, do I so often resist your calling on my life?
Why, O God, do I so often resist your workings in my life?

Draw me close to Your side.
Draw me close to Your heart.
Fill me with awe.
Fill me with courage.
Replace my fear with faith.
Replace my selfishness with a sacrificial spirit.

May I bring my all to You Sunday.
My joy.
My despair.
My sin and shame.
My need for forgiveness.
My need to forgive.

And may Sunday remind me to view my all, in light of Your all.

In Jesus name,
AMEN.
