A Prayer for Sunday

Dear God,

You are our loving Father in heaven.
Thank You for loving us the way You do.
Thank You for being our Father.

You encourage us.
You strengthen us.
You shape us.
You guide us.
Thank You!

You are in heaven…and yet You are everywhere present.
We see You at work here, there, and everywhere.
We see You at work in Panama.
We see You at work in Australia.
We see You at work in Kenya.

And here we are in Jackson, watching.
Watching as You work in our city.
Here we are in Jackson, waiting for Your call.
Waiting as You invite us to join You.

You call us to worship.
You call us to serve.
You call us to be Jesus to the community.
You call us to be Jesus to the world.
You call us to love.

Thank You for allowing us to join with You in the work You are doing.
Thank You for allowing us to be part of the story of Your interaction with people.
Thank You for opening doors.
Thank You for closing doors.
Thank You for making our paths straight.

We ask for Your blessings on our assembly Sunday.
That we might pour out Your praise.
That we might lift up our thanksgiving.
Call us Together, O God.
Call us to worship.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.
