The Missing Peace

“Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my sighing. Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray.  In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice;  in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation” (Psalm 5:1-3 NIV).

Another morning to pray.

And so I speak words.

I sigh.

I cry for help.

I lift my voice.

Another morning to pray to the LORD, my King and my God.

And God listens to my words.

God understands my sighs.

God hears my cries.

God knows my voice.

Just another morning to pray.

Just another morning to pray to the LORD, my King, my God.

But maybe today will not be just another day to pray.

Maybe today will not be just another day to pray to the LORD, my King, my God.

Maybe today I will discover the missing piece.

Maybe today I will discover the missing peace.

Yes, today will be different.

Today I will wait in expectation.

Today, O Lord, my King and and my God,   “I lay out the pieces of my life on your altar and watch for fire to descend” (Psalm 5:3 MSG).
